ARTIST STATEMENTGraphite can both liberate and confine, and its simplicity allows me to capture the fleeting moments - a fearful glance, a foal’s frosted lashes, the battle-scarred muzzle of an aged bear, a cowboy wrangling a frightened calf. There is beauty in the harshness of life and death on a working ranch, and in nature itself. I hope my drawings reflect the fragility and strength of both.
